Our period poverty campaign is aimed at supporting vulnerable girls to stay in school during their menstrual cycle.

As Vedanta Resources, we firmly believe in the importance of improved health care and sanitary health in all the communities we operate in.

It is not a secret that not all girls in schools can manage to have access to sanitary pads and that is why we have come on board to reach out and help support the wellbeing of girls.

We are passionate about education because of the key role it plays in human development.

At the same time, we remain alive to the fact that our girl children face numerous challenges and end up missing classes owing to their menstrual cycles and their inability to purchase sanitary towels.

From the time we commenced our operations in Zambia, we have committed to ensuring that we support our surrounding communities in various sectors.

In line with our period Poverty Campaign, this year we donated about 12, 000 sanitary towels to various schools through our Cooperate Social Responsibilities.

With the increased allocation towards CSR, you will see more of these programs and initiatives coming from us.

Vedanta Resources has set aside US$20 million as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programs.

We will be working closely with communities through the Community Trust initiative, which is community-driven.
