HUNGER: CHOMA’S MASUKU WARD IN NEED OF RELIEF FOOD

MASUKU Ward Councilor in Choma Central Constituency Clement Mudenda has urged Government to consider taking relief Maize to the area as hunger looms.

Mudenda told Byta FM News that despite Food Reserve Agency- FRA maize being available for the local people to buy, they cannot afford a fifty kilogram bag of maize every month.

Mudenda explained that the area has little economic activities which make it difficult for the local people to afford basic needs.

He disclosed that the cost of living has become difficult especially for the aged who have continously suffered a failed harvest.

And Grazet Simoloka who is Headman Kaleya of Chief Nyawa has echoed the same calls for Government to distribute relief maize especially to the impoverished groups of people in the community.

Simoloka disclosed that hunger is severe among the aged, people with disabilities and children.
