UPND Media Director Mark Simuuwe says the ruling party has fulfilled about 95% of the promises it made while in opposition.
He cited the increase in the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), the introduction of free education, job creation, and an improved governance landscape as key achievements under the UPND administration.
Featuring on Phoenix FM’s Let the People Talk, Mr. Simuuwe cautioned that voting out the UPND government in 2026 on the pretext of load-shedding would reverse the progress the country has made.
He argued that opposition political parties lack clear plans to sustain key social programs such as the free education policy, meal allowances, and the cash-for-work initiative.
He added that the international community is shocked by how Zambia has recovered from drought to record a bumper harvest.
He said the economic outlook has improved, with increased exports of fertilizer, power cables, and other products from the Multi-Facility Economic Zones (MFEZ).
