The National Water Supply and Sanitation Council is hosting a delegation from the Tanzania Water Supply and Sanitation Sector, for a three-day learning visit in Lusaka.
The delegation led by Exaudi Maro, EWURA Director of Water and Sanitation includes Neema Simula, Senior Water Engineer, Dickson Semukuyu Senior Water Engineer and Genzabuke Madebo Commercial Manager for Water and Sanitation.
Others are Joyce Msiru, Director of Water Supply and Sanitation and Simon Kanyemka, Director of Legal Services from the Ministry of Water.
The objective of the EWURA visit is to learn and share experiences in the provision and regulation of the sanitation services under the Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) and the regulation of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Services.
NWASCO has hosted similar delegations such as AREEN from Burundi and Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA) and is expecting a delegation from Ethiopia next week.
NWASCO is committed to participating in the various knowledge-sharing, peer-review mechanisms and development of cross cutting regulatory tools based on emerging regional and global regulatory principles and practices in the water supply and sanitation service delivery.
BACKGROUND
The National Water Supply and Sanitation Council was established under the Water Supply and Sanitation Act No. 28 of 1997 to regulate the provision of water supply and sanitation services in the country.
