I HOLD NO GRUDGE AGAINST ANYONE – FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU

Zambia’s Sixth Republican President Dr. Edgar Lungu this morning joined the rest of the country to observe this year’s national day of prayer, fasting and reconciliation at Shalom Embassy inter’ ministries in lusaka’s garden house area.

This year’s national day of prayer, fasting and reconciliation fell under a theme ” Building Zambia for Greater Development Through Prayer and Hard-work.”

In an emotional turn of event, founder of standing in the Gap team and oversea leader of Shalom Embassy inter’ ministries Apostle Sunday Sinyangwe asked the congregation to stand and prayer for the only surviving former head of state Edgar Lungu and his family.

“The Lord shall keep him for us, what we are doing is prophetic, in the bible, the book of Proverbs and Luke, says children obey your parents in the Lord.

Honor your father and mother which is the first, commandment with a promise, so that it shall be well with you.It shall never be with us if we don’t respect the nation of Zambia,” Apostle Sinyangwe said

He further asked President Lungu to forgive the youths that abused, booed and insulted him at the national heroes stadium in August 2021 after he lost power to the current President Hakainde Hichilema.

And responding to the request by apostle Sunday Sinyangwe, President Edgar Lungu said he held no grudge against anyone.

“Today, it’s supposed to be a day of reconciliation, prayer and fasting. I believe Zambians through out the country are on their knees reconciling with one another.

And may I take advantage of this occasion to simply say it openly, I hold no grudge against anyone and therefore, if there is any perception that I’ve held a blessings of Zambians, please may God release that perception that am holding back there favor and grace.” President Lungu said.

The former head of state further slated that he had a clear conscious and asked the country to pray for him as he prayed for the nation in return.

The former head of state was accompanied by former Livestock and Fisheries Ministry Hon. Greyford Monde, former DMMU national coordinator Chanda Kabwe, former Copperbelt province permanent secretary Bright Nundwe, Kabwata constituency strong man Danny Yenga and lusaka based lawyer Celestine Mukandila among others.
