SOME Community Volunteers in the Ministry of Health in Mazabuka District have expressed concern over the directive by President Hakainde Hichilema to employ health volunteers in Cholera Centers.
Euphrasia Mwiinga, a Volunteer at Kaonga Mini Hospital tells Byta FM News that the move will disadvantage those who have been working as volunteers in different health centers for many years.
She feels it is unfair to employ people who have only volunteered for a short time during the Cholera outbreak, leaving those who have been consistent.
Meanwhile, Mazabuka Resident, Geoffrey Milimo, says the Ministry of Health should ensure that the method of selection is based on qualifications.
He adds that it can be better if those who were left out in the last recruitment of Health Workers are are employed first.
