The Zambia Institute of Chattered Accountants (ZICA) is working to prosecute Crowe, an audit firm that was commissioned by HIVOS to conduct an expenditure verification of the Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) project in Zambia.
Around June last year, Zimbabwean nationals who purported to be auditors from Crowe Zimbabwe, sneaked into the country and conducted the audit without clearance from ZICA.
To carry out an audit work in Zambia, a firm needs to be cleared by ZICA.
