Yesterday’s Labour Day celebration in Chililabombwe was marred with drama, it started with the Town Executive Mayor his Worship Lucky Sichone declining to give a speech saying he was not informed about the program. He challenged every one with the program to check if he is mentioned anywhere before he went back to his seat.
Next it was the Zambia Federation of Employees Representative, Mr. Future Muzungaire who was given a chance to speak. He touched on quiet a number of pertinent issues, but mostly he emphasized that government should take a practical step to create an environment where workers thrive. He also urged the employers in the country to learn to first seek dialogue with employees in order to find a workable solution before rushing to put workers on redundancy, as the crowd cheered in affirmation of what he elaborated.
Then came the man of the moment, the guest of honour who went straight to the neck of the Zambia Federation of Employees Representative rubbishing everything he said saying it’s not true.
According to our MP, the workers through their representative should not have stated all hardships they are enduring instead the workers should be praising government for reviving the mines.
Our leaders are slowly becoming monsters such that they can’t withstand people stating facts, they would rather listen to the Chololo praises than allowing the people to stress what they are going through.
