…as its party Provincial Vice IPS for Politics tries to blame Kitwe Mayor Mpasa for their troubles

The mounting pressure on the UPND Government to manage the rising voices of the opposition and deliver on its promises has left its Copperbelt Provincial Vice IPS for Politics Sam Mwikisa panicking.

In an article that has gone viral, Mwikisa now blames Mayor Mpasa for his Government’s failure to deliver on its promises to the residents of Kitwe.

Haunted by the numerous failed promises by UPND, Mwikisa, like any other Minister under the President Hakainde Hichilema-led administration is apportioning the blame on the former ruling party.

However, reliable sources have disclosed that the Mayor is right now in Lusaka for a court session which Minister of Local Government Garry Nkombo is aware of.

Sources have also disclosed that the female Mayor in question has exceeded people’s expectations with her performance as she sometimes sacrifices her weekends.

We are reliably informed that on Sunday, October 22nd, the Minister of Lands Honorable Elijah Mushima was in Kitwe and the Mayor worked with the Minister, on a day that the Patriotic Front was having their scheduled crucial Central Committee meeting.

Ms Mwaya was absent at the said meeting as she had to attend to Kitwe matters with the Minister.

Meanwhile, the sources are alleging that the scheme by Mwikisa to incite the residents of Kitwe comes as a result of the fight that UPND has against the opposition PF where Mayor Mpasa is a Member of the Central Committee with the responsibility, among others, to defend the party on which she was elected.

Despite his politicking, Mwikisa has done nothing to help his party and government deliver on its promises.

He has even failed to tame UPND cadres who have been illegally allocating land at the cemetery.

“He (Mwikisa) has not informed the people of Kitwe when the Chibuluma road contract is going to start. As provincial Vice IPS for the ruling party, he reports to the provincial Chairman who is also Minister for Copperbelt. Today the residents of Kitwe are worried and startled that instead of him complaining about the Mayor leaving the district for one day, the minister has abandoned Kitwe after coming three months ago to lie to the people of Kitwe that they are going to give development,” sources said.

“Today, Kitwe Mayor will be attending a court session where the Nationalist Park issue will be tabled. Hon Gary Nkombo who is Minister for Local Government is aware that Mayor Mpasa is in Lusaka. She spoke to him and he too is interested in the outcome of the Court matter involving Kitwe City Council and one of its play parks. Mwikisa is just being political just like majority of his ministers who have no regard for the Mayor when visiting Kitwe.”
